Ennis the county capital has a rightful claim as Irelands Trad Town.

“Flutes and fiddles everywhere, if it’s music you want, you should go to Clare”

Singer/Songwriter Christy Moore

Co. Clare has long been acknowledged as a heartland for Irish music and Ennis the county capital has a rightful claim as Irelands Trad Town. This long and rich tradition in Irish music means that Ennis is one of the best spots in Ireland for enjoying the highest quality of traditional music year round. And while the summer season sees many of the towns atmospheric pubs hopping with music sessions there is something very special about the annual November Ennis Trad Festival. The warm days may be over and the autumn leafs have fallen but the town comes alive again for this premier date in the traditional music calendar which brings together the very best of Irish traditional musicians in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Running from the 7th to the 12th of Nov the festival offers concerts, launches and numerous free and special events as well as the famous session trail which features many of Ennis renowned music pubs including The Poets Corner, Knoxs Pub, Brogans Bar, Fawls Pub, Dan O’Connells and many more. Events take place in over 20 venues around Ennis with more than 100 sessions over the five days so Ennis is definitely the place to be this November! See www.ennistradfest.com for more details.
