Jane O’Brien is the owner and operator of Ennis Walking Tours. An expert guide with a Masters in local history and a history PhD from the University of Galway, she has been running tours of Ennis since 2005 but it is Jane’s storytelling skills that bring the vibrant past of the town alive for all who join her tours. She is passionate about history and her home town of Ennis and has the ability to use rich historical sources to recreate both the drama and daily life of this extraordinary town and its place in Irish history. Her acclaimed tours provide a highly entertaining and thought-provoking experience of the charming town of Ennis. Jane also works as the Castle Historian and Guide for Dromoland Castle which was once the seat of the Celtic O’Brien Kings and is now a luxury hotel.
Jane lives in Ennis with her husband, three sons and her West Highland Terrier, Oscar.
